Product Overview
The velocity measurement of the Doppler Flow Velocity Meter is based on the Doppler effect. The velocity sensor emits ultrasonic waves at an upward angle, which propagate through the fluid. The fluid contains impurities such as bubbles or particles (which can be assumed to move at the same speed as the water flow). When the ultrasonic waves encounter these impurities, the reflected waves undergo a Doppler frequency shift Δf. This Doppler frequency shift Δf is proportional to the flow velocity. By measuring Δf, the flow velocity V (m/s) can be determined.
Water level measurement utilizes a built-in pressure sensor to measure the distance from the Doppler Flow Velocity Meter to the water surface. The built-in temperature sensor measures the water temperature to correct the water level reading.
By inputting channel parameters and using the measured water level H (m), the cross-sectional area S (m²) is calculated. The instantaneous flow rate (Q = V * S) is obtained by multiplying the cross-sectional area by the flow velocity V (m/s). The cumulative flow is calculated by multiplying the flow rate by the accumulated time.
The product features an ABS integrated housing, providing effective waterproof sealing. It is particularly suitable for low-water-level applications and can perform accurate measurements even when the water level is as low as 5 cm.
